Have you recently received a notice from IBM about TM1 SSL Certificates expiring on November 24th? If yes, you are not alone. Most TM1 users are receiving these notices and bulletin messages and quite frankly, it makes everybody nervous to think that the systems will go down on that date. It is like the Y2K dejavu. We don’t even know if it is true because nobody have experienced this before, right?
The good news is we have still time to act on this and there are solutions available. IBM currently gives the users 3 options. First one is using the custom SSL certification that your organization might have. Second option is to switch to the IBM Cognos TM1 v2 Certificates (TM1 10.2+ only). And third option is to apply some interim fixes, which are not ready yet as of this blog’s post date. IBM says they will make an interim fix download available for each version of TM1 in the upcoming days.
For now, we still have plenty of time to educate ourselves about this issue and wait until we find the best solution for our organization.
I, myself, will be spending some time in the next few weeks to fully understand these changes and which option will be best for our valued clients.
Meanwhile, here is the link IBM s FAQ page.
